Last week Bob had some time off work and we had lunch out and en-route passed some of the posh parts of Cheshire near to the footballers houses. We then found ourselves near to Manchester airport and I remembered that Concorde was now on display so we called in to view this magnificent piece of engineering and talk about a disappointment ! It was so sad to see our Concorde enclosed in a hanger stripped of all the high tech devices all we could see was the nose cone and some steps up to the body of the plane but we couldnt get in to the hanger at all. It reminded me of a sad almost extinct animal caged in a zoo - what a terrible waste of all that technology not to mention the money spent on developing such an amazing plane.
Strangely enough it was a Wednesday so we met up with some friends for a meal before popping in to the Rembrant for the other Manchester Concord which unlike the other one is going from strength to strength and has become stronger over the years.

Hi Mrs Kate..!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if you could possibly email me at
christine.rourke at yahoo.co.uk
swap @ for at, of course.
I'd welcome some opinions of where is best to stay, etc.
We were initially looking at the last weekend in April, but it seems there's a big "pink" bash on and we could not get a room for that weekend in the three places I tried.
So now we're looking at maybe the second weekend in May.
love
chrissie
